Mental Health Reminders

Sometimes, we must be reminded of how well we are doing and how far we have come. It is important to remember mental health is just as crucial as physical health, and taking care of it should be a daily practice. Here are some gentle reminders to help you nurture your mind and create a healthier, more balanced life.

  • It’s Okay to Not Be Okay – We all go through tough times. It’s natural to feel overwhelmed, stressed, or anxious sometimes. What’s important is acknowledging these feelings and not trying to push them away it’s also about understanding that they are temporary. You don’t need to be “perfect” or always in a good mood. Give yourself permission to feel, process, and heal at your own pace.
  • Reach Out for Support – I know this is easier said than done as not everybody has the same access as others and some people struggle to open up fully to others. If possible, reach out to friends, family, or professionals when you’re struggling. Talking about your feelings can be incredibly therapeutic, and seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness. Having a support system is essential and has massively benefited me in the past.
  • Practice Mindfulness – This is something I practice daily and has massively helped me through having struggled with anxiety. Mindfulness is the practice of staying present in the moment and also being aware of your thoughts and feelings without trying to push them away. Incorporating mindfulness techniques into your day, whether through breathing exercises, meditation, or simply focusing on the present moment, can reduce stress and anxiety.
  • Move Your Body – As you may know by now this is my number 1, I instantly feel better after moving my body, whether that is going for a walk, training in the gym or running, they all have massively helped with my anxiety.  Physical activity releases endorphins, which are the body’s natural mood boosters. Whether it’s a short walk, a yoga session, or a full workout, moving your body can lift your spirits and help you feel more centred, this is something I highly recommend.
  • Be Kind to Yourself – This is something I have struggled with before and is something I am also working on. Practising self-compassion and be gentle with yourself is a game changer, celebrate small wins, and forgive yourself when things don’t go as planned or you have made a mistake. You are doing your best, and that’s enough.

I hope these reminders have helped you in some way and given you some comfort in knowing there are things you can do to help support your mental health, you are doing much better than you think, you have got this, keep going.

Lots of love x
