Times are hard at the moment, so budgeting where we can is essential. When it comes to practicing self-care, this doesn’t need to be complicated and doesn’t have to be expensive either.
Here are some ways to take care of yourself whilst staying on a budget:
- At–home spa day: Pamper yourself with your own DIY spa day in the comfort of your own home. You could buy some inexpensive products such as face masks, bath salts, essential oils and soaps for relaxation, light some candles, put on a podcast or listen to some relaxing music and simply unwind.
- Go for a walk: Make yourself a homemade coffee/tea any drink and/or a packed lunch and go for a nice walk in either your local area or venture out a little bit further if possible. He with your thoughts whilst on your walk and take it and embrace your surroundings and enjoy the fresh air. It really does do the trick in boosting your mood.
- Journalling: Writing down your feelings can be a lot easier than speaking about them for some of us. Grab yourself a pen and a piece of paper, an old notebook or journal, you could even use your phone notes app and then take some time out of your day to write down your feelings, things you are grateful for and any goals you have. This is a personal favourite of mine.
- Declutter your space: Having a sort out at home can feel extremely therapeutic and productive. The environment you are surrounded by has an effect on your mood and mental health, so making it a calm, relaxing and cosy space will make all the difference and will make you feel so much MORE uplifted and positive.
I hope you find some of these tips helpful. These are some of my favourites, and you don’t need to spend tons of money to do these little things that can transform your mindset and mood. Let me know if you have any of your own self-care budget tips, I would love to hear them.
Lots of love x
