Anxiety is something we all face at one point or another, it makes us human. Whether it is the stresses of your personal life, work, health or just general feelings of unease, anxiety can feel like a huge weight on our shoulders and sometimes we struggle to be able to manage this. The good thing is, that we are not alone in this and there are many ways we can manage this.

Tips on How to Deal With Anxiety.

  • Understand Your Anxiety – The first step in managing your anxiety is to understand it, it is important to know anxiety is the body’s to help us prepare for challenges and danger, so it is one of the greatest tools we have to protect ourselves.

However, the key is not to let anxiety overwhelm you and take control of your life, so take a moment to be aware of your triggers and the physical sensations, this will help you understand your anxiety more, so jot this down in a journal/phone notes app to track your thoughts and to write down what you are experiencing to help identify what triggers your anxiety.

  • Reframe Your Thoughts – The first step is to identify your thoughts and recognise they are there, don’t try and push them away as they will only come back stronger.

The second step is to examine the evidence around this thought, think about the thing you are worrying about and then see if there is any factual evidence to support this thought, Often, anxious thoughts are based on worst-case scenarios that are unlikely to happen. When you critically assess them, you’ll often find that they are exaggerated or unfounded.

  • Focus on The Present Moment – Anxiety often stems from worrying about the past or the future. Instead, try and focus on the present moment, which can be easier said than done, but focusing on the things we can control helps us stay present. Remember, worrying isn’t going to change anything.
  • Use Positive Affirmations – I always mention positive affirmations, but I love using them, it is such a simple thing to do, and it helps SO MUCH in shifting your mindset to feel more positive, confident and calm. Give it a go.

I hope you have found these tips helpful in dealing with anxiety, I know it can be tough, but you are doing better than you think, give these a go and see how your mindset can shift and help you deal with anxiety.
