Life can become hectic and feel like you have the weight of the world on your shoulders. However, you don’t have to live in constant stress, there are simple steps you can take and way you can de-stress yourself and give your mind a rest.
Here are some tips and things you can do to de-stress:
- Detox from social media – Sometimes it is so easy to get caught up in social media, the relentless scrolling, comparing yourself to others on social media, reading nasty and negative comments and these all will negatively impact your mental health. Taking some time of social media does you the world of good, take some time for yourself to engage in different activities such as reading, get creative, exercising, going for nature walk etc and you will feel much more reconnected with yourself and your life.
- Journal your throughs – This isn’t for everyone, but journalling is something I have enjoyed when de-stressing, putting everything down on paper clears your mind and makes room for the more positive thoughts. Journalling also help you see things more realistically and things aren’t as scary as your mind makes out.
- Create something – Get creative and take your mind of the things that have been causing you stress, try cooking a new recipe and make some amazing food, try baking and indulge in some sweet treats, try gardening and get yourself in the fresh air, start that course you have been thinking about doing. Getting creative and putting your mind to the things that interest you will instantly help de-stress your mind.
- Exercise – I know I sound like a broken record but I will never not recommend this so I always will put it in the posts, exercise is a MAJOR was of destressing your mind and has been a saviour for me in dealing with anxiety and low mood. Get yourself out for a walk, do home workouts, go for a run, train in the gym, whatever form of exercise suits you best. I promise you feel 100000x better.
- Listen to a podcast/music/vlog – I normally go for a podcast or YouTube vlog and just have this on in the background if I’m pottering around or I will take some time out to watch a YT vlog and just relax. It sounds simple but it does help me so I thought I would put this one in here. Put some music on in the background or go for a walk, put your headphones in and have some time with yourself.
I hope these help and you find yourself feeling less stressed and giving your mind a rest when life becomes hectic. These are all little things that have helped me, and they have been so effective, give them a try and let me know what you think.
Lots of love x
