Life doesn’t always go to plan and some days feel hard and other days you feel on top of the world, this is completely normal and a part of life, but there are things you can do each day to make your day that little bit better and it can make a huge difference in how you are feeling.
- Move Your Body (Even Just a Little) – This is something I mention quite often on the blog and is something I always highly recommend, getting yourself out for a walk, doing some stretches, training in the gym, going for a run, it doesn’t have to be anything extreme, just moving your body a little can make a huge improvement to your mood.
- Journalling – This isn’t for everybody but writing down your thoughts and how you are feeling can release some of the pressure you might be feeling, you can use a journal (pen to paper), or you can use your notes app or an online journal to reflect on your thoughts and how you are feeling, this can really help.
- Practice Gratitude – Practicing gratitude is a nice way of shifting your focus and concentrating on the things you have in your life that you are grateful for, just saying these things out loud can shift your mood, Reflecting on even one thing you’re thankful for each day can reduce stress and increase overall happiness, give it a go.
- Connect With Someone – We don’t always feel like socialising, especially if we are feeling low, but connection with the people you love can really boost your mood, go for a walk, grab a coffee, and have a good catch-up can do you the world of good.
- Be Kind To Yourself – This is really important, remember it’s okay not to feel okay and you are going to have good and bad days, forgive yourself for past mistakes and move on, you have come along way, and you should be proud of yourself, so remember to be kind to yourself as well. Practicing self-compassion means showing yourself understanding rather than judgment when things feel hard.
