What is a mental health day? A mental health day is simply a day to prioritise YOU and take some time to focus on your mental well-being, this could mean taking a day off work, school, college, or university and minimising any commitments or responsibilities. The purpose of taking a mental health day is to allow yourself to relax and recharge after a period of not feeling great or simply feeling burnout.
Taking mental health days can have an amazing effect on your overall mood and can effectively make you more productive in the long run, it is so important to be able to understand that you are allowed to have some time for yourself and take mental health days when they are needed.
Sometimes people can feel bad for thinking of themselves and asking for some time off, but ultimately when your mental health is being affected and you are experiencing burnout, sometimes these days off can do you a lot more good than harm. Just remember it is more than okay to take a day off to recharge and focus on your mental health.
